370,065. Stop valves. SWIFT, W. H., 274, St. Thomas' Road, and SMITH & CO. (DERBY), Ltd., J., Cotton Lane, both in Derby. Jan. 9, 1931, No. 767. [Class 135.] Lift valves.-A stop valve for brewers' vessels and tanks is provided with a smooth inlet bore a<1> terminating in a seating rim a<2> within an enlarged casing body a closed by a screwed cover c and having a side outlet b. The spindle e screws through the cover c and is packed by ring f compressed, as shown, by a winged collar g. Packing rings d and h<1> are fitted for the edge of the casing body and the valve member h, the latter being revolubly mounted on the spindle e, as shown. The removable operating wheel i is secured by a bolt j, j<1>. An indicating finger may be carried by the spindle to co-operate with a scale on the cover to indicate the extent of opening of the valve.
