Abstract
369,836. Operating means for revolving doors. JOHNSON, F. W., 144, Hollingbury Road, Brighton. July 13, 1931, No. 20071. [Class 65 (i).] A revolving door is automatically restored to the normal position by the engagement of a spring or otherwise loaded member which engages with a cam-shaped or elliptic track and during movement of the door stores up energy to move the door to the normal position when the door is released. The spindle 1 of the revolving door extends into a casing 2 in the ceiling or superstructure of the door and has secured thereto a disc 4 on which are mounted the pivoted arms 9 which carry grooved rollers 11 to engage an internal elliptic cam 6 formed in a fixed plate 5; the arms 9 are thereby moved to actuate, through toothed rack and bevel gearing 27, 15, torsion springs 12 which are housed within cylinders 13 carried on the disc 4. The springs 12 may be adjusted by turning the sleeves 14 to which thev are secured and then fixing the sleeves 14 in the adjusted position on stud pins 16 by pins passed through appropriate holes 17.
