Abstract
922,465. Vehicle doors. COACH FITTINGS DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Sept. 13, 1960 [July 28, 1959], No. 25813/59. Class 103(2) A flush type sliding door 3, Fig. 4, for a vehicle, is suspended by rollers 10 from an upper guide track 4 whilst its lower edge is guided by rollers 12 on brackets 14, which rollers 12 engage opposite sides of a lower track 5, the tracks 4, 5 being movable bodily perpendicularly to the vehicle side wall 1 in order to clear the door from its opening 2 before being slid parallel to the wall. As shown each guide track is connected by three moving links 6 to the side wall. Tension springs 9 between the tracks and wall urge the former to their outward positions. One roller 12 on each bracket 14 is carried by a plate 13 pivoted on the bracket under the urge of a spring (not shown) to cause the rollers to grip the lower track 5. If devised the links 6 may each be provided with a torsion spring to urge the tracks away from the door opening.
