Abstract

843,256. Vehicle doors. BODE, E. March 18, 1959, No. 9389/59. Class 108(1). A door 1 is carried along one side by a roller 10 engaging a rail 12 whilst the other side is supported, when the door is opened, on a rail 9 and when it is closed, in a member 31 articulated by the link 33 to a bracket 35 secured to the body pillar 2. When the latch 37 is operated that edge of the door is released and moves outwardly, under the action of a torsion spring 36 surrounding the pivot 34, until the fitting 31 is aligned with the rail 9. The door may then be slid along the side of the vehicle.
