368,384. Coke oven doors. ACKEREN, P. V., 62, Irmgardstrasse, Essen, Germany.- (Assignee of Koppers Akt.-Ges., H. ; 29, Moltkestrasse, Essen, Germany.) Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36801. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1929. [Class 123 (i).] A coke oven closure means comprises a door frame 14 having a plug 30, a shaped surface 34 on the door forming with another surface 35 on the doorway frame 15 a space 16 to accommodate a lute packing, and a packing frame 17, which carries a resilient plate 18 with a packing strip 37 serving as a self-sealing packing. The door frame is provided with arms 19 engaging hook-shaped members 31 carried by the doorway frame 15 which is secured to the oven by bolts 20 having heads which engage slots 27. Spring washers 28 and packing 21 render the joint between the frame 15 and the oven resilient and gas-tight. Bolts 36, 38 press the plate 18 and packing strip 37 into contact with the door frame and doorway frame respectively.
