388,441. Coke-oven doors. KOPPERS CO. OF DELAWARE, Koppers Building, Pittsburg, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Huffmann, G.; Koppers Building, Pittsburg, U.S.A.) Aug. 27, 1931, No. 24154. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1930. [Class 123 (i).] The leveller door 8 of a coke oven is moved vertically by a lever 28 so that a latch bar 19 is clear of inclined hooks 20 before the door can be swung open on its hinges 15 which are segmented to prevent the door from being opened until it is raised. The latch bar 19 engages the hooks 20 when the door is closed and lowered, and automatically forces the door against the frame 11. The door 8 is tightly clamped against the frame 11 by a lever 25 and cam 24 which coacts with a bolt 22 projecting through the door.
