Locks, cases for; striking-plates for locks and latches.-Rim locks and latches and their striking plates have overlapping angular parts so that flexible tools cannot be forced into the cracks between doors and door posts for forcing back the bolts. The fore-end plate i of the lock or latch d is bent to form the overhanging part i<2> and the part i<1> which is screwed to the edge of the door. The striking plate g is correspondingly bent at g<2> and g<1>. When the door is closed, the parts i<2> and g<2> abut closely together. On this account, and owing to the tortuous nature of the passage from the outside of the door to the bolt f, no unauthorized forcing back of the bolt by the insertion of a flexible strip is possible.
