711,011. Coke-oven doors. DIDIER-KOGAGHINSELMANN KOKSOFENBAU UND GASVERWERTUNG AKT.-GES. July 16, 1952 [July 16, 1951], No. 18044/52. Class 55 (1) A coke-oven door has a body 3 formed with a peripheral sealing edge 4 which abuts against a flange 5 of the door frame 2 of the coke-oven, and a flange, which carries a resilient strip 7 forming a second sealing frame. The strip 7 may carry a jointing strip 34, for example of asbestos rope, or it may be wholly of metal. Associated with the strip 7 are a series of spring pressed pads 18 adapted to urge the strip 7 into contact with the door frame. The pads 18 are carried by arms 17 rigidly secured on vertical rods 11 and 12 which are pivotally mounted on the door body and are rotatable by movement of a threaded shaft 24 which is connected to the rods 11 and 12 by a toggle-linkage and arms 29. The horizontal portions of the strip 7 are similarly provided with spring pressed pads 18 and the rods corresponding to the rods 11 and 12 are connected with the rods 11 and 12 by means of bevel gears for simultaneous adjustment therewith.
