Abstract

830,723. Vehicle windows. PRESSED STEEL CO. Ltd. April 25, 1958, No. 13164/58. Class 20(3) A vehicle window 11 is guided by guide channels 13, 14, each of which has an upper part 21 which is relatively narrow and is inclined to the vertical and a lower part 22 which is relatively wide and substantially vertical or at an inclination to the vertical less than that of the part 21. The lower edge of the window 11 has brackets 16, 17, each carrying a pair of wheels rotatable about axles 15, the arrangement being such that when the window is lowered by a handle operating a pinion 30 and thus moving sector 31, arm 32, bell crank 26 and levers 23, 24, the wheels of each pair follow behind one another in the parts 21 of the channels 13, 14 so that the window 11 is lowered and moved slightly laterally to disengage a rubber sealing strip 34 from an adjacent vehicle body part and when the parts 22 of the channels 13, 14 are reached, the wheels of each pair engage opposite flanges 19, 20, on channels 13, 14.
