Abstract

367,822. Induction motors ; controlling motors. PAILLARD ET CIE SOC. ANON., E. and NICOLE, A., Ste-Croix, Switzerland. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30766. [Class 35.] A split-phase induction motor for gramophones &c. is provided with a centrifugal governor housed in an axial recess in the rotor. The rotor 7 is of the squirrel-cage type and formed with a recess 17 containing a centrifugal governor 20 provided with a friction disc 23 in the ordinary way The rotor spindle 6 carries a worm 30 gearing with a fibre or like pinion 31 on the spindle 4. The pinion 31 slides on the spindle 4 and drives it through a friction disc 32 against which it is pressed by a spring washer 35. The stator consists of two sets of E-shaped stampings 3a, 3b, one limb of which is surrounded by the coil 8 and the others divided into four sets of poles 11, three of which are surrounded by three, two and one shading rings 12 and the fourth left unshaded. The coils 8 are tapped and connected to a number of terminals 36 on a panel 37 so that the machine can be used with currents of different voltage.
