Aug. 29, 1930, No. 25885. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 35.] In a one-phase induction motor having a split-phase auxiliary winding for starting the number of turns of the main winding in circuit during starting is different from that in circuit in ordinary running. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which a switch r is arranged to put the auxiliary winding b in circuit and at the same time to cut out some of the turns of the main winding a. When the motor has reached its full speed the switch r cuts out the winding b and throws the whole of the winding a into circuit. In a modification parts of the main winding are put in circuit at starting and cut out at full speed. The switch may be operated by an automatic regulator.
