Abstract

July 1, 1932, No. 18669. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 2, 1932]. [Class 35.] In a machine for single phase or continuous current operation having a condenser in series with the field winding, the condenser is shunted by a resistance which may be used for field regulation. In the form shown, the circuit of the condenser C is interrupted, or the condenser and resistance R are short-circuited for continuous-current operation. A variable resistance may be connected in series with the condenser, and the armature voltage may be varied by an autotransformer. It is stated that the machine can supply its own exciting current when running as an alternator.
