Abstract
422,788. Controlling motors. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin) July 14, 1933, No. 20011. Convention date, July 14, 1932. [Class 35] Motors with unwound iron armatures.- In a two pole machine wherein the winding on each pole is subdivided into two portions, all four portions are permanently connected in series and tappings are provided to enable one or both winding portions of each pole to be selectively connected to the supply. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the subdivided stator coils b, c have tappings f, f<1> to which the supply leads are connected when the highest output is required, but for a lower output, all the turns are effective by using only terminals e, e<1>. In the form shown in Fig. 4, for a dual voltage motor, the small sections are only included for lower output conditions, and the two groups of main sections with or without the small sections are connected in series or parallel according to the voltage. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 313,501, [Class 35].
