Abstract

584,762. A.C. motors. MOORE, H. E. Oct. 16, 1944, No. 19954. [Class 35] In a synchronous motor wherein the stator has plates in a plane spaced from that of the rotor, parts of the plates are bent into U form so as to form polepieces lying in the plane of the rotor surrounding them. In the form shown, stator plates 2 united by a non-magnetic strap 11 carrying a bearing 10 for the spindle 6 and by a core carrying a bobbin type winding, not shown, are bent round as at 1 and toothed to co-operate with the inwardly extending teeth 16 on the annular rotor 5 which is carried by a bar 7 secured to spindle 6. An inertia disc 8 is loosely mounted on this spindle and frictionally coupled thereto by a bow spring 9.
