Abstract

364,517. Stop-motions for spindles in spinning &c. frames. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Zurich, Switzerland. July 27, 1931, No. 21405. Convention date, Aug. 4, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] A stop-motion mechanism for a spindle 5 driven by a belt 4, the tension of which is maintained by a jockey pulley 9 on one arm of a counterweighted lever 7, the lever being connected by a rod 22 to a spindle brake 20, comprises a weighted hand lever 12 pivoted at one end 15 to a pivoted member 16. The hand lever is connected by a rod 11 to the counterweighted lever 7 and by a rod 25 to a latch 27 held by a member 29 of an automatic stop-motion device. Displacement of the pivoted member, through the freeing of the latch either manually or by the stop-motion device, allows the lever to drop and simultaneously withdraw the jockey pulley 9 and apply the brake 20.
