Abstract
363,693. Spray carburetters. BROMHAM, F. J. H., 119, Rue Paul Devigne, Brussels. June 21, 1930, No. 19009. Convention date, June 21, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 7 (iii).] In a carburetter which requires no reserve of fuel and which will function in any position the fuel outlet of the spraying nozzle is controlled by a valve 58 which carries a plate 60 acted on by the engine suction. The fuel is supplied past a hand-actuated cut off valve 31 into a passage containing a filter 35. It then traverses the passages 36, 39, and 44 leading to the spraying nozzle except during slow running when the throttle valve 9 and the spraying valve 58 are closed and fuel issues from a passage 67 after traversing the chamber 37, Fig. 4, ducts 74, and a chamber 75 closed by a plug 76 containing a regulating needle valve 77 provided with a milled head. The fuel outlet from the chamber 75 is controlled bv a suction-actuated valve 82 ; when the throttle valve 9 closes a projection 72 thereon forces a valve 71 from its seat. The fuel delivered by the slow-running nozzle is mixed with air admitted through ducts 88 which communicate with an annular passage 89 leading to the atmosphere through an orifice controlled by a needle valve 93. The main air supply to the carburetter is controlled by a hit-and-miss valve 19 and additional air may be supplied through ports in the casing 1 the diffuser tube 15 in which is replaceable. Some of the air passes through ducts 63, 62 in the fuel spraying nozzle. A nozzle 7 is used when starting.
