Abstract

363,032. Two-stroke engines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Daimler-Benz Akt.-Ges.; Untert³rkheim, Stuttgart, Germany.) Oct. 13, 1930, No. 30621. [Class 7 (ii).] Pumps. - In a twin cylinder engine a Roots blower K is driven from the crank shaft through speed-multiplying gear, and supplies (as shown) to a terminal admission port b or to the crank case, in which arrangement the power pistons also act as supplementary pump pistons for the charge. Driving gears.-The two pistons are connected to the crank pin f by rods as shown so that they arrive at their dead - centres together, but the piston d moves in advance of the piston d<1> on the upstroke, to close the exhaust port c before the admission port b is closed by the piston d<1>.
