361,119. Dynamo-electric machines. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Nov. 22, 1930, No. 35196. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1929. [Class 35.] Magneto-electric machines; rotary machines.-In a dynamo electric machine such as a cycle lighting dynamo having at least four permanent magnets b connected at one end to a magnetic yoke c or at least four iron rods energized by a winding on the yoke and disposed longitudinally of the shaft, the armature is of the imbricated pole type with the poles e, f extending longitudinally over the entire length of the armature winding h about the shaft a. The winding is mounted on a sleeve g of magnetic material and the sleeve is slotted longitudinally at i to reduce eddy currents. The sleeve and the armature poles e, f are secured to the shaft by a channelled member d bent over at l on to the member f so that the member e is pressed against a shoulder on the shaft. The shoulder may be dispensed with and the member d bent over at each end. The sleeve g may be omitted in which case the members e, f may be secured by nuts screwed on the shaft. The armature may be stationary and the field rotatable. A six-pole armature is described also.
