Abstract

358,812. Frictional pocket igniters. DUNHILL, Ltd., A. and DUNHILL, V., 137, High Street, Notting Hill Gate, London. Dec. 19, 1930, No. 38325. [Class 75 (iii).] A detachable unit adapted to replace the usual loose spring and adjusting screw in the flint tube 3 comprises a tube 7 having a screw-threaded portion 13 for engaging the internal threads in the tube 3 and provided at the inner end with a plunger 9 adapted to be pressed against the flint 6 by a coiled spring 8 or the like abutting against the permanently closed outer end of the tube 7. The forward movement of the plunger is limited by the abutment 10 coacting with the inturned end 12 of the tube. The plunger head is preferably approximately equal in length to the flint and the threaded portion 13 slightly longer. The plunger may be formed with a reduced stem portion 11 which fits in the spring.
