Abstract

371,601. Frictional pocket igniters. CURWEN & CO., Ltd., W. M., 6, Emerald Street, London. April 21, 1931, No. 11844. [Class 75 (iii).] A device for taking up wear of the flint in an igniter, such as described in Specification 364,306, comprises a hollow cylinder 16, closed at the inner end by a screwplug 27, supporting the flint spring 17, and adapted to be screwed along the flint tube 15 by the rotation of a shaft 19 of polygonal section engaging in a hole of similar shape in the outer end of the cylinder, a compression spring 26 being arranged around the shaft between the head 24 of the latter and the bottom of the cylinder. The shaft is provided with a disc 20 cut with a screwdriver slit 21 and located in a recess in the fuel container.
