The container a may project into a liquid fuel reservoir, through which the flinttube e passes, a feed opening being provided in the lower end of the container. The chamber is closed when not in use by a cap b or by a spring-controlled cap or cover adapted to actuate the friction-wheel. In a storm-proof lighter, an elongated, preferably oval, container projects into a windshield of similar shape.
