Abstract

553,039. Cigarette lighters. CAMBRIDGE, T. C. Feb. 2, 1942, No. 1394. [Class 75 (iii)] A pyrophoric lighter in which no screw caps are used comprises an open-topped outer casing A preferably containing an absorbent pad, an open-bottomed inner casing C having an L-shaped d space packed with cottonwool to form a fuel reservoir and fitted with a wick, flint casing D carrying the striking wheel E and fitted with a cross-pin J which when the parts are assembled engages notches K in the sides of the casing C with the spring abutting on the projecting base C<SP>2</SP> of the fuel reservoir, and a removable lid B. The side and rear walls of the fuel reservoir project above the flat top of the fuel reservoir and are perforated to form a windguard.
