Abstract
674,634. Frictional lighters. QUERCIA, M., and MOREAU, R. March 3, 1949 [May 11, 1948], No. 5908/49. Class 75(iii) In a frictional lighter the body a is traversed by a chimney h into which the wick e extends, and which is closable by a member i slidable longitudinally in the upper part of the body a, the flint o being housed in a horizontal channel level with the chimney, and the flint wheel assembly, e.g. a flint wheel n, operating wheel p and mounting rod m, being vertically mounted in the outer surface of the lighter. Upward movement of the member i, the recessed lower end of which normally covers the wick e, is limited by the engagement of a spring k, housed in a groove therein with a groove in the upper part of the body. A head j on the member i forms a pipe ram, and a pipe-probing pin and a bevelled strip forming a pipe cleaner are housed in longitudinal recesses in the body a. The latter includes a fuel reservoir b closed by a force-fit washer f, the bottom of the body a being closed by a plug g. The pressure of the flint spring q is adjusted by turning a plug s by hand or by means of a screwdriver t carried by the plug g.
