Abstract
358,488. Water-tube steam boilers. FOSTER WHEELER, Ltd., Aldwych House, Aldwych, London.-(Keenan, W. F. ; 985, Plymouth Street, Pelham Manor, New York, U.S.A.) July 7, 1930, No. 20535. [Class 123 (ii).] Vertical distributing and collecting headers 15, 16 arranged alternately are connected by horizontal loop tubes 23 extending across the heating chamber 10, the connections of each tube with a distributing and a collecting header being at the same level. The upper ends of the distributing headers are connected with the lower part of a steam and water drum 18 by tubes 19, and the upper ends of the collecting headers, which extend above the distributing headers, are connected with the upper part of the drum by tubes 20, 21, 22. The lower ends of the headers are connected with a mud drum 13 by nipples 17. A superheater 35 is arranged across the bottom of the heating chamber, and a feedwater heater 37 having tubes disposed transversely of the boiler tubes is arranged above the boiler.
