357,917. Vehicle lamps. ZEISS, C. [Firm of], Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. Feb. 9, 1931, No. 4000. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1930. Addition to 336,546, [Class 75 (iv), Lamps &c., Kinds &c. of]. [Class 75 (iv).] Lantern screens.-In a vehicle lamp in which a screen is longitudinally adjustable between the source of light and the reflector and the upper and lower halves of the screen are formed by semiannular transparent Fresnel lenses a, b arranged respectively with their refracting surfaces facing away from and towards the apex of the reflector, as described in the parent Specification, the lateral parts of the two halves of the screen are formed with axial wedge-shaped steps c arranged with their bases c<1> directed downwardly so that rays of light passing through these parts of the screen are refracted downwardly before falling on the reflector. The steps c are preferably formed on the inner surface of the screen.
