Abstract

340,502. Vehicle &c. lamps. SHEPPARD, S. R., The Limes, Ladbroke Road, Redhill, Surrey. Aug. 23, 1929, No. 5750/30. Divided on 325,805, [Class 75 (iv), Lamps &c., Kinds &c. of]. [Class 75 (iv).] Lantern screens. - To prevent dazzle a concave point-focussing opaque reflector 6 is disposed on the longitudinal axis of the lamp intermediate the source of light 4 and the lamp front and so positioned that its focus is coincident with that of the main reflector 1, the dimensions of the reflectors being such that light ravs reflected to and fro between the reflectors recede from the axis and are emitted through the annular space between the reflectors. The focal length of the reflector 6 is greater than that of the main reflector and its diameter is such as to screen the direct rays. As shown the reflector 6 is carried by resilient arms 7 mounted on a sleeve 8 held in position by the pins 5 of the lamp. In a modification the reflector is supported by a screwed rod passing through the lamp front and secured by nuts.
