Abstract

354,857. Regulating compressors. HASLAM & NEWTON, Ltd., Union Foundry, and PARK, J., Warkworth, Allestree Lane, both in Derby. May 20, 1930, No. 15531. [Class 8 (i).] The cylinder 1 is formed at a point 5 of its stroke with a port through which, by the adjustment of a valve 7, a regulated proportion of the gas can be byepassed to the suction pipe 6 during the initial portion of the compression stroke. A series of such ports may be disposed at different points of the stroke. In the case of a multi-cylinder compressor, each cylinder has its own valved port leading to a common suction pipe.
