'[Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii)] A rectangular or multi-sided passageway P having its top wall continuous with the lower face 29 of the cylinder head leads air or mixture tangentially from the cylinder 14 into a lateral combustion chamber Cc of substantially spherical form in which a fuel nozzle 82 may be arranged. The combustion chamber is formed in removable lines 75, 76, and the passageway P by a flat portion 79 of the liner 76 and notches 80, 81 in the cylinder 14 and cylinder block 15.
