Abstract
522,313. Oil engines. CROSSLEY MOTORS, Ltd., and CROOKE, S. E. Dec. 8, 1938, No. 35794. [Class 7(iii)] In order to increase turbulence of the charge compressed into a combustion chamber c of conical form in the piston, the chamber is stepped as shown at e. The edges of the steps and the base of the chamber may be rounded as shown. The chamber may be coaxial with the piston or eccentric, and the fuel injector h may be coaxial with the chamber or eccentric, and may be inclined as shown.
