352,347. Cooling lubricant. MOTORENFABRIK DEUTZ AKT.-GES., Deutz, Cologne, Germany. Oct. 20, 1930, No. 31432. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1929. [Class 12 (iii).] In a lubricating system for an internal-combustion engine, oil is pumped through a pipe a to a cooler b arranged in a chamber k through which the engine-cooling water circulates, whence the oil passes through conduits c, e and a filter f to the bearings, there being provided between the pipe a and conduit e a short byepass m controlled by a spring-loaded valve i which opens to byepass the cooler when the pressure in the latter is excessive due to the oil being cold at starting of the engine. As the water becomes warmed during running of the engine, the valve i closes. The pressure in the system is regulated by an adjustable relief valve g
