426,064. Lubricating internal combustion engines. ENFIELD CYCLE CO., Ltd., and SMITH, F. W., Hewell Road, Redditch, Worcestershire. Nov. 4, 1933, No. 30665. [Classes 12 (ii) and 12 (iii)] In an internalcombustion engine, the overhead valve gear is lubricated by oil spray or mist which passes from the crank case through a port a<1> into the cam chamber a<2> and thence up a conduit b<1>, c<1>, housing the valve rods b, to the valve casing d. From the casing d the oil mist passes through a duct e to a reservoir f that supplies the crank - case. Excess mist passes through an outlet f<1> to lubricate, say, a power transmission chain. In the apparatus shown, the engine has a detachable cylinder head c and a detachable valve casing d.
