Abstract

1,072,966. Crankcase breathers; lubricating; cooling. SOC. ANON ANDRE CITROEN. March 29, 1966 [April 7, 1965], No. 13822/66. Heading F1B. In an I.C. engine oil, collected in a crankcase breather chamber 7, Fig. 2, is drained via tubes 11a to valve covers 12 where it lubricates and cools the valve gear by an oil mist. The crankcase breather is as described in Specification 1, 011, 385. Oil is drained to the crankcase via tubes 13, enclosing the valve push rods, and holes 21 in valve tappets 22. The cylinder head (14) Fig. 4 (not shown) has fins (20) which are enclosed by the valve cover 12.
