Abstract

139,978. Castle, T. R. June 18, 1919.. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means. - To lubricate the cylinder and piston of an internal-combustion engine, particularly one of the cylinders of an engine of the V-type which would otherwise be insufficiently lubricated, a rotating, roller 8 formed with teeth or like parts is mounted in a channel 6 so placed that oil, which is delivered to the channel by a pipe 13, is splashed into the cylinder. The roller is rotated by gearing either inside or outside the crank casing.
