Abstract
238,879. Daimler-Motoren-Ges. Aug. 20, 1924, [Convention date]. Channels and reservoir in internal-combustion engine parts.-In an internal-combustion engine fitted with a supercharger or blower, the parts of the supercharger to be lubricated are included in the oil-circulation system of the engine. Oil supplied by a pump a to a hollow overhead cam shaft e collects, after lubricating the bearings f and cams g., in a housing h, whence it is led by a pipe i to the upper bearings k of the blower m, from which it passes by a pipe to the lower bearings l and collects in a sump n from which it flows over a wall o into the engine sump b. The gear wheel p driving the blower dips into the sump n. A branch pipe q leading from the pipe i leads part of the oil from the housing h direct to the sump b.
