Channels and reservoirs in engine crank casings.-In an internalcombustion engine having cylinders suspended below a crank casing, an oil pump c is mounted in a sump b, placed between two cylinders below the floor lever of the crank chamber a. The oil that drains into the sump from the crank chamber is forced through passages d, f to the crank-shaft bearings g, and thence through passages in the crankshaft and connecting- rods to the crank-pin and gudgeon bearings. Slotted covers n are placed over the cylinders. The device may be used for drawing fresh oil from a reservoir and supplying it to the bearings.
