Abstract
825. Herr, H. T. Aug. 28, 1912, [Convention date]. Channels in valves.-In the internal-combustion engine described in Specification 11,479/13, oil is pumped through a rotary valve 1 which has oil grooves 60 serving as gas seals and also preventing the escape of oil to the cylinder. A rotary pump driven by helical gearing from a vertical lay shaft forces oil through the valves and housings and lubricates the lay shaft and the gearing. The crank case is provided with a false bottom for splash lubrication and with an oil well underneath.
