Abstract

491,637. Valve gear ; lubricating. WERKSPOOR N. V. Dec. 22, 1937, No. 35565. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1936. [Classes 7 (ii), 7 (iii), and 7 (vi)] The valves are actuated by bell - cranks 5 from a cam shaft 3 mounted in bearings 20 on a level with the joint between the cylinder and cylinder head. A cover 7 encloses the cylinder head and the valve gear. The cam shaft is driven from an intermediate shaft 13 through chain gear 9, which may also drive the fuel pump 8, the shaft 13 being driven by a further chain 15. The cam shaft operates in an oil bath 4, and the escape of oil between adjacent cylinder heads is prevented by gaskets 18, Fig. 3, for example of cork.
