Abstract

400,552. Casings. PURDAY, H. F. P. and REBBECK, F. E., c/o Harland & Wolff, Ltd., Queen's Island, Belfast. May 29, 1933, No. 15429. [Class 7 (ii).] A separate oil-tight casing E, in which a camshaft B is mounted and lubricated by dip, rests on a ledge J and is bolted to the side of the engine frame. The shaft bearings are supported on arcuate surfaces M of perforated partitions and a door L is provided. The top of the casing is level with the top of the engine frame ; fuel pumps and other accessories may be mounted on the flat top thus formed, which has a cover N.
