Abstract
229,066. Standard Motor Co., Ltd., and Maudslay, R. W. Jan. 21, 1924. Crank chambers. - The crank chamber and gear-box extension are cast in one piece in the form of a trough open only at the top. The extension has a vertical partition B, and this partition and the end-plate C are formed with bosses to receive the gear-shaft bearings. The chamber is deep in front of this partition to form the flywheel and clutch pit. Platforms D, E cast with the chamber receive the shaft bearings, the shaft &c. being lowered through the open top. The cam shaft J is inside the chamber, the driving gear L being near the fly-wheel. The engine. block F and cover plates G, H are attached to the flanged top of the trough.
