Abstract

189,373. Perry, E. D. Jan. 12, 1922. Motor power plant.-A four-cylinder internalcombustion engine 18 and its exhaust pipe 19 are enclosed in a water-jacket 1, and are connected to the walls of the jacket by a number of vertical fins 16. The steam generated in the jacket is led by a pipe 4 and valve 3 to a steam engine 5 fixed to the wall of the jacket and driving the same crankshaft as the internal-combustion engine. A pipe 13 leads exhaust steam from the engine 5 to a condenser 12 connected with a water reservoir 10, from which water is transferred by a pump 9 past a valve 8 to the waterjacket.
