Abstract
269,713. Wolselery Motors, Ltd., Boden, O., and Leeding, E. J. March 18, 1926. Crank chambers.-The main body A of the crank chamber is cast integrally with the cylinder block B, undivided in an horizontal plane. Carriers C for the upper half-bearings are cast with or fixed to the main casting, the crank shaft R being threaded into position through the open ends E. The lower half-bearings N with caps P are inserted through the bottom of the crank chamber which is closed by the cover D. The cover plates G, H for the open ends of the crank chamber receive the bearing bushes for the end journals. The openings in the ends of the crank chamber are enlarged at the bottom as shown at Q, Fig. 3, the flanges on the plates G, H covering these enlargements. The flywheel Y is bolted to a flange on a sleeve W keyed to the coned end of the shaft, the sleeve forming the journal. A separate sleeve K forms the journal at the other end of the shaft.
