Abstract
403,338. Crank chambers. SCHRIEL, P. C., and BEIJERMAN, J. J. H., (trading as BILTHOVENSCHE METAAL INDUSTRIE), 22A Rembrandtlaan, Bilthoven, Holland. Aug. 10, 1933, No. 22406. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1932. [Class 7 (ii).] Screwed covers 4 are used for the opening through which the crank-shaft is introduced and also for that in the base provided for the passage of the piston 3, the cylinder and crank-chamber being otherwise in one piece. A shoulder 30 is provided against which the ball-bearing 7 abuts, the opening left by the shoulder being adequate for the passage of the gear wheel 12. The cover 18 supporting the bearing 17 for the shaft having the driving pulley and valve actuating cam may also be threaded into the casing wall. The crankchamber is formed with a bracket which, in conjunction with a cap, serves for clamping the engine to the inclined tube of a cycle frame.
