24,588. Mathis, E. E. C. Oct. 28. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.- The parts of an internal-combustion engine are lubricated by means of the chain that drives the cam and magneto shafts. The chain a passes over sprocket-wheels on the motor, cam, and magneto shafts e, f, g and a chain-tightener i. The chain dips into an oil-bath, and the oil picked up is thrown against deflecting-plates which direct it to the parts requiring lubrication.
