Abstract
501,998. Lubricating. DAIMLER. BENZ AKT.-GES. May 10, 1938, Nos. 13949 and 13950. Convention dates, May 10, 1937 and June 25, 1937. [Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] In a lubricant cooling system for internalcombustion engines &c. the oil is forced by a rotary pump g from the engine sump to the reservoir b and thence by a rotary pump d in the reservoir to the cooler c from which it is fed to the engine by a rotary pump e. The pumps g, e are driven from the engine, while the pump d is preferably independently driven, e.g., by an electric motor. In a modification, the reservoir is provided with an air separator n, from which the oil flows to the pump d through a pipe i having a short perforate section m, while the pump discharge pipe is fitted with a relief valve r.
