[Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii).] A combined carrier and saddle cover for cycles &c. comprises a carrier frame or plat.- form 1 mounted on telescopic arms 5 which are pivoted at 7 to arms 8 clamped on either end of the rear wheel spindle 9, the arrangement being such that, when the platform 1 is disconnected at its front end from a supporting bracket 12 on the fork 11, it may be moved upwards and forwards so as to cover the saddle 18, depending side-pieces on the platform protecting the sides of the saddle. The platform 1 may be formed of sheet metal, or of a framework covered with plywood or flexible waterproof material. The upper ends of the arms 5 may be pivotally mounted on studs projecting laterally from the framework of the carrier 1, or they may be flattened and connected by rivets &c. to the inside of the side members of the carrier. The arms 8 are slotted or perforated to engage the wheel spindle 9, and are clamped thereon by the usual nuts. The front end of the carrier 1 may be detachably supported in a spring clip member on the bracket 12, or may be provided with a screw-threaded stud adapted to engage a slot 15, Fig. 5, in a lug 14 on the bracket 12 and be secured therein by a wing nut. The lower members of the telescopic arms 5 may be detached from the upper members and turned downwards to form a stand, such lower members being connected by a transverse strengthening member.
