Abstract

324,496. Pashley, W. R. Jan. 2, 1929. Luggage -carriers.-A carrier cycle is provided with a pair of tubes. 6 projecting forwardly from the steering-head 4 and carrying a detachable carrier basket or holder 13, secondary tubes 7 extending over or through the tubes 6 so as to reinforce them at and adjacent to the points of attachment of the carrier to the tubes 6 and the points of attachment of the tubes 6 to the head 4. The head 4 carries a pair of laterally-projecting lugs 2 provided with sockets 5 to receive the tubes 6. The tubes 7 extend rearwardly and downwardly so as to reinforce the cycle frame, and are secured to a cross tube 12 on the seat tube 13<a> and to the ends of the rear forks. The tubes 6 may be upwardly inclined, and tubes 15 on the carrier 13 are adjustably and removably secured on them, as by clamping-collars 17 on the slit ends of the tubes 15.
