Abstract
346,590. Folding baby carriages. SAWARD, A., 105, Abbeville Road, Acre Lane, Brixton, London. Way 2, 1930, No. 13543. [Class 108 (i).] In perambulators of the kind in which upper and lower frames are connected by linkage by which the frames are brought together when the perambulator is not in use means are incorporated in such linkage and serve as a member thereof, such means comprising a spring link, so constructed as to prevent the unintentional closing of the perambulator body. The upper and lower frames 1, 2 are connected by toggle links 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b adapted to collapse towards one another. The handle 7 is connected to the rear toggle 6b by a bar 8 and toggle links 9a, 10 are pivoted to the lower frame 2 and the handle-bar 7 while an arm 9b of the toggle is connected to the lower member 5b of the forward toggle 5a, 5b by a spring link 11 which may be a flexible steel link or two rigid parts controlled by a spring. Pressure on the handle does not normally break the toggle 9a, 10 as these links are in a straight line while the pivot 9f is so placed in relation to the pivots 9c, 5d as to prevent the unintentional collapse of the forward toggle.
