Abstract

371,622. Folding baby carriages. RONES, S., 321, Whitechapel Road, London. May 7, 1931, No. 13563. [Class 108 (i).] In baby carriages comprising upper and lower rectangular frames interconnected by folding X frames and handle-bars pivoted to the lower frame, links or stays are provided connecting the handle-bar to the lower frame and further links or struts connected across the rectangular frames adapted to maintain the X frames against collapsing but being foldable with the X frames to permit folding. Upper and lower rectangular frames 7, 4 are interconnected by pivoted crossed bars 8 having pivoted and sliding connections as shown. The handle-bar 1 is pivoted to the lower frame 4 and is connected by a short link 16 to pivoted struts or links 13, 14 so that forward movement of the handle-bar collapses the baby carriage. Stays 10 are provided. The side and end walls 9 of the carriage are flexible and a rigid or semi-rigid well 5 is supported from the lower frame 4.
