Abstract

609,697. Folding push-chairs. POTTER, C. L. March 21, 1946, No. 8737. [Class 108 (i)] In a folding push-chair, the wheel frames 24 are normally held locked in position by bars 6 pivoted at 7 fitting into slots at the pivot axis 28-29 of the said frames. The bars 6 also support the seat frame 8, and arm-rests 15 are normally held rigid by catches 12 pivoted to the handle-bars 10. Raising of the catches allows the arm-rests 15 to fold inwards and the remaining parts of the seat frame to be collapsed down. This action also releases the wheel frames 24 so that when these are folded inwards, the wheels are contained in a common plane without overlap within the rectangular underframe 5, which is formed of bars of V- section with a foot-rest 5 at the front. The fabric seat 18 is slung between the front bar 16 of the seat frame and a cross-bar 19 carried by the catches 12.
