Abstract
Alloy steels contain in addition to iron and carbon more than 8 but less than 20 per cent of nickel, more than 12 but less than 24 per cent of chromium, less than 2 per cent of copper and relatively small percentages of tungsten or molybdenum or both, the combined proportion of nickel and chromium being over 32 per cent. Preferably 0,5-2 per cent of tungsten and in addition, or alternatively, 0,25-1 per cent of molybdenum should be employed. Specification 267,024, [Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], is referred to.
